Seth Olinsky is an American musician and composer, and founder of the legendary cult experimental rock band Akron/Family. He has toured world wide playing festivals such as Coachella, Primavera, and Roskilde, and has released records on Dead Oceans, Young God Records, Joyful Noise, and Crammed. He is also known for his multi-band installation piece Band Dialogue, and 40 drum performances alongside his latest project Cy Dune. His works have been performed at several festivals and museums including Hopscotch, SXSW, Treefort, Sled Island, Ecstatic, River to River, and MASS MoCA. He is also a member of the LA based multi Grammy nominated experimental classical ensemble WildUP.
Seth also owns and operates a creative studio where he and his team have brought his experimental, high creative high energy, post genre take on creating music to moving pictures on award winning projects for Netflix, Vice, HBO, Apple, and Nike, as well as several celebrated independent films and short films.
Additionally, Seth is known for his collaborative work with Swans/Angels of Light /YGR founder Michael Gira and has worked closely with legendary post-minimalist composer Rhys Chatham as a section leader and conductor for his large scale 100 and 200 Guitar Orchestras performed at Lincoln Center as well as well as other US and UK festivals.
